This course consists of approximately 5-7 hours of flight instruction and two hours of ground instruction in preparation for the FAA FLIGHT TEST. This course can be completed in two days. Cost is $250.00 an hour*.

OTHER FLIGHT TRAINING

INTRODUCTION TO SEAPLANES & DEMO FLIGHT- Up to two people can fly & tour the coastline looking for sharks, manatees, turtles, etc. or to Lake Okeechobee looking for alligators, wild hogs, and misc. birdlife. 

ABBREVIATED COURSE - For those going from floats to flying boats, or seeking recurrency, we offer an abbreviated course.

BAHAMAS CHECKOUT - (Passport required) - You and a guest, along with your instructor, will fly to Freeport, Bahamas. After learning about EAPIS, Customs & Immigrations, Cruising Permits, etc., you’ll be off to explore, play in the Caribbean, have lunch, snorkel, test your luck at the casino, or just relax. Depart and fly back to U.S. to clear Customs. Price includes landing fees & departure taxes.

  SES COURSE OUTLINE

The SES rating takes two days to complete. It involves about five hours of flight training and a couple hours of ground instruction, along with preflight and prefloat. After ground instruction, the first day will start with some basic air work, including slow flight and stalls.

Next, you’ll be off to the water. You’ll start with normal takeoffs and landings and some step taxiing, and progress to more advanced maneuvers including rough water, crosswind, and glassy water techniques. You will also learn about confined area takeoffs and landings, ramping, sailing, beaching and docking.

All training as prescribed under the FAA practical test standards for seaplanes will be covered. With your training complete and your SES endorsement, you’ll be ready for your FAA flight test.

Although most land pilots have no problem with the SES rating, you may need more training (or just desire more) before your FAA Flight Test.†
